Warmingham Lane 26th/27th August
Report By Flynn Harding
After holding a very successful round 4 of their club champs at the ever popular Preston Docks expectations were high for rounds 5 & 6 which was to be held at the challenging Warmingham Lane circuit. The track preparation took place through the night & was watered & graded ready for round 5 of Cheshires club championships on Sunday morning. With a very good turn out & some impressive riders entered everyone was looking forward to the coming days racing.
First up on the start gate were the Adult open class & as the gate dropped those explosive 450's roared down the start straight with plenty of handle bar banging before hitting the brakes hard for the first corner. Coming out in in top spot was Nicky Carter with wins in motos 1 & 2 & a third spot in the final race, pushing hard behind Nicky was Steven Bailey who with his final moto win got 2nd place & with some very consistent riding third place went to Chris Hay.
Adult 125s lined up next & showing a clean pair or heals to the chasing pack it was Honda mounted Andrew Wilson who rode the hard pack track superbly all day taking 3 wins out of 3, pushing hard behind him it was Dean Horton bringing home that second spot & third place went to Aaron Holmes.

Those BW 85s were chomping at the bit ready to race the ever changing Warmingham Lane circuit next. SW 85s were the next ones to enter the starting blocks & it was young Jake Cowell who showed everyone just how fast these young ones can ride, putting in some very quick lap times & taking 3 wins out of 3 to end up with that 1st place trophy, Adam Sterry was never far behind Jake & with two very good 2nd places in motos 1 & 2 he walked off with a well deserved 2nd spot. Bringing home that 3rd place was Jak Dinsley.
Junior 65s were revving up next & taking all three motos by storm it was Kyle Casement that floated his little two stroke over Warminghams hard surface to take that hard fought 1st place, the ever consistant Lee McNiffe flew his KTM around the track to end up with that 2nd spot & bringing home that 3 spot was Dylan Lewis.
Blue smoke filled the air as the buzzing sound of the Autos filled the once peaceful & quiet Warmingham. With having to call an Ambulance for a suspected heart attack victim in the spectator area the cleark of the corse had no choice but to cancel the final moto but never the less it looked as if Oliver Consterdine would have been unstoppable after taking the 1st two motos with ease & ending up with first place, young Kieran Davies rode superbly into second spot & rounding off in third place was Jed Jones.
After such a successful day on the Sunday the riders started turning up on the Bank Holiday Monday ready to commence racing on what promised to be a dry sunny day.
Sticking with Sundays race order it was the Adult classes that started the days proceedings with the added bonus of Open class & 125 riding together it was a good chance to see just how fast those smaller bikes were & it proved not to be the case of size matters as most of the smaller engined bikes lapping far quicker that their larger stable mates.
In the Adult open class it was a repeat of Sundays result with Nicky Carter taking all three motos & ending up with his feet on the highest step & going home richer than he had arrived with his 1st place prize money, coming home next it was the ever improving Honda mounted Simon Harding with some impressive starts that tackled Warminghams dusty conditions superbly to end up with a hard fought 2nd spot & that third & final place on the steps was taken by Alan Ward.
The Adult 125's were dominated by Honda riding Ashley Wilde with a clean sweep of wins in all three motos, riding his KTM to the limit it was Cheshires very own Ben Mycock that tackled the rutting track with experience & ease to walk off with second place & it was another Cheshire regular Kawasiki mounted Pete Hamlett that took that 3rd.
Schoolboys were up next & it was Jake Preston that once again took his screaming KTM stroker to that top spot. Chasing hard on his heels all day with a final moto win it was Daniel Brough that ended up 2nd & bringing home third it was Nathan Housely.
Next to line up on the start gate were the BW 85s & Honda mounted Chris Shalcross once again showed how to tackle the dusty conditions & all the other riders a view of his back wheel as he took the class by storm with 3 out of 3 to climb onto top spot following in his wake was MPS's Ryan Sumner who was never far behind & bringing home 3rd place was Brad Harrison.
Sw 85s lined up next & after having to red flag the 1st moto after Nathan William's nasty accident ending with a very nasty break of his arm, it was Jake Cowell that stood on the highest step of the podium with a big grin on his face, next up & with a race win to his credit was Adam Sterry taking second & third went to Jak Dinsley.
Revving their little water cooled engines it was Junior 65s out next & in a repeat of Sundays result taking a maximum 3 out of three it was Kyle Casement that went home with another 1st place trophy to add to his collection, climbing on to that second step was young Ryan Johnson & rounding off in third place was Lee McNiffe.
Once again filling everyone's nostrils with blue smoke those tiddlers of the motocross world the Autos flew down the start straight racing the ever rutting track with skill. It was Oliver Consterdine that once again was victorious winning all three motos & taking a well deserved 1st place. Chasing hard all day young Lois Hurst climbed onto second spot on the podium & Kieran Davies rounded up third place.

Hi Ben..Please find enclosed the write up for Cheshire North Wests recent meeting held at Preston Docks on Sunday 5th Aug..Photos & written by Flynn Harding
After having to cancel the previous 3 rounds of their Club Champs Cheshire North West finally succeeded in staging round 4 of their club championship's.The attendance was very good & as day broke on Sunday morning the skys were blue & the sun was shining & all looked promising for the coming days racing. The land owner had done a superb job of watering & grading the track & even after a full days racing of 21 blocks it held up well & although it was rutty the dust was barley noticeable.
First out were the Adult open group & the gathered crowds were in for some good battles between eventual winner KTM mounted Nathen Parker with a clean sweep of wins & second placed man Oliver Sandyford Smith. Bringing home third was Ben Brooks.
Next to line up on Cheshires new gate were the Adult 125's & there was a superb entry of some of the UK's top riders gunning for that 1st place. Although Kawasiki's Lewis King had a 2nd place & 3rd block win, clutch problems in the 2nd block kept him of what would have surely been a podium place. With 2 superbly ridden wins & a 2nd spot it was Luke Meredith that went home with a fatter wallet than he came with after collecting his prize money for first place next up on the podium was James Lassu who flew round the track tackling the ruts & whoops with relative ease taking that final spot was Kev Wells.
Out next was the Schoolboys & with 3 wins it was Jack West that took top spot chasing him hard all day was young Ryan King who put in some constant lap times & rode the rutting track superbly the 3rd & final spot went to Ben Parkingson who only missed 2nd place by 2 points.
Revving up next were the Big Wheel 85's & it was Chris Shalcross who showed a clean pair of heels to the chasing pack with three superbly ridden first spots. In his wake & putting in some very impressive lap times was second placed Lewis Parkinson, Conner Butler bought home that third place & went home with one more trophy than he arrived with.
Next out were the Small Wheel 85's & with three different riders taking the converted 1st place wins it was first block race winner Jake Cowell standing triumphly on the top step of the podium at the end of the day, the ever consistant Thomas Davies bought home second place with some hard fought battles along the way, final spot went to Cheshires regular rider Adam Derbyshire.
With nearly a full line up of Junior 65's chomping at the bit & leaving a sea of blue smoke after their race along Prestons start straight it was Casey Connelly with a full house of wins taking home top spot, not far behind was young Micheal Wall who rode his bike like a demon that went home with his well deserved second placed trophy by his side, bringing home that final place was Lee McNiffe.
Last out was those ever eager Autos three straight wins it was Brandon Sharples on the highest step at the end of race day, snapping at his heals all day was Drew Roe who rode the ever deeply rutting track superbly, third step of the podium & after his spectacular table top crash it was Lewis Hanley going home with third spot.
All at Cheshire North West would like to thank the land owner & everyone who attended for helping make it a superb day with some of the best racing seen. Hopefully we wont have to wait as long till we're running round 5.
